Quick Questions with Mark: Sales Executive

When he’s not out at sea catching a feed, diving, or dreaming about cooking up a beef Wellington or  taking a trip to outer space (we reckon the Beef Wellington might be more achievable 🙃 ) Mark is our New Zealand based Sales Executive here at SwipedOn. We caught up with Mark for a quick fire round of questions to learn more about him and what a day in the life is like at SwipedOn.

What does a day in the life of you at SwipedOn look like?

In the mornings, drinking as much coffee as possible. In the middle, calling customers and those trialling SwipedOn; helping them with setup and questions. In the afternoon, I am usually on zoom calls to demo SwipedOn and help customers subscribe.

What do you like about working at SwipedOn?

There is always an opportunity to be involved in more than just one thing. I work in sales, and can also add value to marketing, product, support, and all sorts of other areas!

What do you particularly like about what we’re doing with SwipedOn?

SwipedOn is super agile and we seem to be able to adapt the product to fit the needs of our customers very quickly. It's great to be part of solving visitor management problems for all kinds of businesses!

What three words would you use to describe your role?

1. Coffee
2. Chatting
3. Closing

What is your SwipedOn screensaver?

Still the default... Need to update that 😆

What did you do in your previous working life?

I worked in London for a few years in a recruitment role, working with some top investment banks and investment management firms.

What do you do in your free time?

Love getting out and about fishing and diving, so whenever the weather is good, will be on the boat or jet ski trying to catch a feed!

What is still left on your bucket list?

1. Learn to surf
2. Cook a beef wellington
3. Do a trip into outer space

What’s on your SwipedOn playlist?

Rufus is my fave

If you were stuck on a desert island and you could choose one person from the SwipedOn team to come with you, who would you take and why?

Depends on if I am stuck there for life or just for a while; Hads has spent plenty of time at sea and can imagine has some useful survival skills.

Let’s end this with a weird fact about you…

Despite having zero musical talent and being tone deaf, I've written a song and directed the music video for a track with circa 2 million views on YouTube.
