Quick Questions with Chloe: Developer

When she's not writing poetry, listening to audiobooks or dreaming about eating fried butter in the USA and tacos in Mexico, Chloe is a developer here at SwipedOn HQ in New Zealand. We caught up with her to find out what a day in the life at SwipedOn is like for her. Read on to meet Chloe...

What does a day in the life of you at SwipedOn look like?

On mornings of a standup I'll cross my fingers and toes that Anthony who dials in via zoom will let us see his two cute dogs. Otherwise I'll get settled in, check our slack channel, my email, then pick up from where I left off with all things coding.

What do you like about working at SwipedOn?

The beautiful harbour view and the lovely people but, at the end of the day, it's the daily biscuits for me.

What do you particularly like about what weโ€™re doing with SwipedOn?

Reducing paper waste and planting trees for new customers ๐ŸŒฑ

What three words would you use to describe your role?

1.hmm
2. mm
3. ah

... Loosely translated as lots of thinking and problem solving with an 'aha' moment thrown in at the end ๐Ÿ˜†

What is your SwipedOn screensaver?

Big Sur ๐ŸŒˆ

What did you do in your previous working life?

A lot of hospitality work, some dog walking/sitting, and free labour for friends' businesses before freelancing as a web developer.

What do you do in your free time?

I love listening to audiobooks and writing poems.

What are three things still left on your bucket list?

1. Eat tacos in Mexico ๐ŸŒฎ ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ฝ
2. Eat fried butter in the USA ๐Ÿงˆ ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ
3. Befriend Nathan Fielder ๐Ÿ‘ฏโ€โ™€๏ธ

Whatโ€™s on your SwipedOn playlist?

Wrap and Europop... on shuffle. A real mixed bag ๐Ÿ˜‚

If you were stuck on a desert island and you could choose one person from the SwipedOn team to come with you, who would you take and why?

Lauren, because she has green fingers so can feed me her organically grown island grapes while I lay in the shade under a palm tree ๐Ÿ‡ ๐ŸŒด

Let's end this with a weird fact about you...

I could listen to a song a thousand times and never memorise the lyrics but I could name the exact notes*
