Quick Questions with Jackson: Developer

We caught up with Jackson AKA the current SwipedOn table tennis champion... and resident Space Connect developer about what he gets up to in his spare time, what's left on his bucket list and his favourite parts about working at SwipedOn. Read on to find out more.
What does a day in the life of you at SwipedOn look like?
Because this is SwipedOn, the first thing to do when arriving at the office is to sign in (obviously ๐). I skip the coffee machine, and try to wake up 'naturally'.
I'm part of the SpaceConnect team, which is based in the UK, so the day usually starts by catching up on what has happened overnight and figuring out what the priorities are for the day, then I write a bunch of code and play a bit of table tennis until it's home time ๐
What do you like about working at SwipedOn?
The flexibility, atmosphere, great office location and awesome team ๐
What do you particularly like about what weโre doing with SwipedOn?
I like that there are clear company goals and everyone gets an opportunity to contribute to the product. We solve significant problems for many customers, which helps to show the value that our product has around the world.
What three words would you use to describe your role?
1. Null
2. Reference
3. Exception
What is your SwipedOn screensaver?
The iconic Silicon Beach neon dark screensaver created by the marketing team ๐
What did you do in your previous working life?
I worked as a full-stack developer for another local Tauranga company that developed inventory management software for fresh produce packhouses ๐ฅ I worked on lots of different projects ranging from business intelligence, fruit quality assurance and coolstore room mapping.
What do you do in your free time?
I play a lot of tennis and golf โณ๏ธ as well as skiing whenever there is snow. I also like to make the most out of getting outside and enjoying what The Bay has to offer ๐
What are three things still left on your bucket list?
1. Go skiing through waist-deep powder in Japan ๐ฏ๐ต
2. Travel around southeast Asia.
3. Win a season of table tennis at SwipedOn (if you can't tell, we're a bit table tennis mad here)
Whatโs on your SwipedOn playlist?
If you were stuck on a desert island and you could choose one person from the SwipedOn team to come with you, who would you take and why?
Probably Reece. He once spent 10 hours cutting a log in half, someone with that sort of dedication is what you need on a desert island.
Let's end this with a weird fact about you...
My family were some of the earliest European settlers to Tauranga, one of which bought the Yatton Estate in Greerton back in 1884
