What does a day in the life of you at SwipedOn look like?
It all starts off by rolling in, in the morning wearing a combination of jandals and my finest flannel shirt. This is then followed by our stand up meeting where we discuss all the top secret things that we are working on. At some point this transitions into actually implementing the aforementioned ideas which is when the real magic happens.
What do you like about working at SwipedOn?
There's a lot to like: flexible work hours, basically a waterfront office, top rate team that gels seamlessly to get the job done. The (sometimes) witty office banter.
What do you particularly like about what we’re doing with SwipedOn?
I like that we listen to our customers and that pace of development is generally pretty quick. It's great to be able to go from seeing requests come in through to hearing the feedback when we release a new version containing the new features.
What three words would you use to describe your role?
Make iPads good.
What is your SwipedOn screensaver?
Aerial photos that I took flying through the Southern Alps and over Milford sound last year.
What did you do in your previous working life?
For the last five years or so I was working as an iOS Developer at a digital agency making iOS apps for a variety of clients.
What do you do in your free time?
I have a race car, so at least 50 % of my weekends are taken up either racing, or working on my race car.
What are three things still left on your bucket list?
Drive the
Nordschleife in Germany, become a multi millionaire, write a bucket list...
What’s on your SwipedOn playlist?
I hit shuffle on Spotify and let the RNG gods decide.
If you were stuck on a desert island and you could choose one person from the SwipedOn team to come with you, who would you take and why?
Probably Rory, he seems useful in a situation like this. I just have to make sure he stays away from my secret beer stash. Why is the Rum gone?

Prior to deciding to become a Software Developer I used to work in a freezing works for several years, on a whim one day I decided to turn right instead of left on the way home and instead went to the local university and enrolled that day. The rest is history.
