This rare opportunity is based in Tauranga (alongside SmartSpace subsidiary, SwipedOn), with the potential to continue employment in the UK.

We are looking for a talented individual to join our fast moving, cutting edge development team as a Senior iOS Developer. You must have a passion for software development and the drive to contribute to a fast moving and innovative team. You must be capable of using the latest tools and methodologies to develop high-quality products. The ideal candidate will be a team player with the ability to learn quickly, keeping up to date with the latest methodologies and tools and using their own initiative. Good communication skills are essential.

You will participate in the design, development, testing and support of software applications, both internal and external. Team members will be helping to grow SmartSpace Software’s global competency in agility, and will work directly with the head of the line of business to pilot new programs, new methods and techniques, and to spread knowledge throughout the company.

  • Contribute to deriving technical requirements from requirements/stories
  • Work closely with stakeholders to deliver superior user experiences
  • Work closely with other developers to integrate UIs with APIs
  • Follow technology trends and demonstrate innovation
  • Offer coaching and training to other developers

Skills and Expertise
  • Excellent programming skills in Objective C & Swift
  • Solid understanding of iOS networking
  • Experience of development best practices (continuous delivery, TDD, BDD, mocking frameworks)
  • Excellent knowledge of design patterns and object orientated design principles
  • Experience with source control, e.g. Git, TFS or SVN
  • Experience of Agile software development

  • A high technical aptitude and strong attention to detail
  • You must be able to follow direction from team leaders and work well as part of a team
  • You can think on your feet and are able to work well in changing and ambiguous circumstances
  • You have excellent people skills and the ability to communicate well both verbally and written
