SwipedOn is a great alternative to The Receptionist for iPad

SwipedOn and The Receptionist are visitor management systems, but overall SwipedOn has a wider feature set.
While both brands have similar offerings on the surface - a secure digital sign-in solution hosted on a tablet at your welcome desk - they do have some key differences including feature-set, employee in out and pricing structure. In this article, we take a closer look at how these two visitor management solutions differ from one another, to highlight those key differences and help you find the system that most accurately aligns with your business’ budget and requirements.

Main differences between
The Receptionist & SwipedOn

Feature set

Both SwipedOn and The Receptionist offer features such as contactless sign in, custom badge design and location management.

SwipedOn also offers a contactless employee sign in solution; SwipedOn Pocket is a smartphone app for employees which allows them to sign in touch free and remotely. The feature is also accessible as a digital employee in out board on the iPad. Evacuations are made easy with SwipedOns offline evacuation roll call feature which accounts for everyone who has signed into the premises including all visitors and employees. With location settings, multi-location businesses are able to customize visitor agreements and branding per location.

The Receptionist offers an iPad based solution only, but does not currently offer the ability for employees to sign in and out. The Receptionist does also offer evacuation management but this is for visitors only and does not apply to employees. At time of writing, it’s unclear if The Receptionist offers the same customization to location settings as SwipedOn.

The SwipedOn pricing structure is based on features and size of business to ensure customers receive the best value for money possible and offers three plans to choose from.
The Receptionist offers four plans to choose from and is based purely on the amount of employees which your business has.

Notifications & alerts

SwipedOn supports instant email and SMS notifications which are sent to the host (employee) when a visitor has signed in to see them. Visitor screening questions allow you to screen all visitors and employees entering your premises, to ask simple yes/no questions. If they select the answer that requires approval from an admin, the admin is immediately notified.
The Receptionist allows you to notify employees to let them know that a visitor has arrived.

Pandemic response

SwipedOn offers crucial features to help manage the risk of COVID-19 - and other contagious viruses - in the workplace including visitor and employee screening, contactless sign in, accurate time-stamping of all in/out visitor and employee movements and an easy to use contact tracing button in the web dashboard.
The Receptionist offers contactless sign in for visitors only and an integration to check visitor temperature. The software does not take into account employee sign ins and therefore could create a barrier for carrying out accurate contact tracing.
SwipedOn also offers the option for a static QR code which does not require the use of an iPad. The Receptionist does not have this offering.

World-class customer support

The Receptionist offers Radical Support™ while SwipedOn offers world-class customer and technical support with an average global response time of 1 minute 22 seconds.
G2, a business software review site, recently announced their Spring 2021 awards winners and SwipedOn dominated the Visitor Management System category with 15 awards, including best support!
