Quick Questions with Erin: Product Coordinator
When she's not dreaming about getting a lie-in past 6:00am or beating her PB half marathon time โฐ Erin is our product coordinator here at SwipedOn. We caught up with Erin to find out what a day in the life at SwipedOn is like for her.
What does a day in the life of you at SwipedOn look like?
What do you like about working at SwipedOn?
SwipedOn is a very positive friendly workplace, having no experience in the SaaS industry I've had to ask a lot of questions (and google a lot of acronyms ๐ฏ) and have been quite amazed how willing to help everyone is. And as above, I love the variation of my role. What do you particularly like about what weโre doing with SwipedOn?
I like that it's a positive product providing a solution for companies worldwide that need it - particularly now with covid-19 ๐ท It feels good to know you're making someone's day easier with what you're doing. Even if you're just a small cog in the wheel of making that happen. I also appreciate having workmates after working from home for so long!
What three words would you use to describe your role?
1. Constantly
2. Evolving
3. Role
What is your SwipedOn screensaver?
A blank screen I think!
What did you do in your previous working life?
I worked for a looong time for Orca, a triathlon wetsuit and apparel brand. Starting straight out of uni I learnt from the bottom up from receptionist/marketing coordinator to eventually working in their Hong Kong office for four years as the apparel product manager. Luckily for me I got to travel frequently all over the world during this time for triathlon/Ironman events and industry meetings which were always based in beautiful locations. Since moving back to NZ and 'settling down' I continued to work from home for Orca's global distributor Orbea as NZ Sales Manager and then social media/copywriting between babies. During this time my husband and I also started a small healthy smoothie business on the side, as well as an ethically conscious online homeware store โป๏ธ
What do you do in your free time?
With three kids 6 and under, a job and a family business, free time is something I dream of. In a past life I loved playing netball and snowboarding ๐ I also have a weekly run club with girlfriends in the neighbourhood ๐๐ปโโ๏ธMy guilty pleasure is a Jack Reacher book. I also spend way too much time reading recipe books for new dinner ideas - which my kids will undoubtedly refuse to eat ๐
What are three things still left on your bucket list?
1. Getting to "sleep-in" past 6:00am - I hold out hope this is one I'll be able to tick off sometime in the next year!
2. Beating my last 1/2 marathon time ๐ฅ
3. Having the time and headspace to think about more bucket list items

Whatโs on your SwipedOn playlist?
- Morning Sunshine by BlueyGreen - off my husbands EP ๐ต
- Shout by Tears for Fears - my 1.5yr old makes us play this every morning at 5.30am followed by Volcano Man - a Will Ferrell special.
- Aside from this my husband is a music fiend and I don't get much of a look-in when it comes to getting to choose the music! The last live music I got to see was NZ bands The Beths and also Leisure playing with the NZ Symphony Orchestra.
If you were stuck on a desert island and you could choose one person from the SwipedOn team to come with you, who would you take and why?
I'd probably take Sarah (Finance) as she holds the keys to the SwipedOn bank accounts so I have no doubt she could order in whatever we needed to make our stay on the island enjoyable, and there would be no kids ๐ด
Let's end this with a weird fact about you...
I have an uncanny ability to memorise people's number plates without even trying... ๐
